سورة المؤمنون الآية رقم 47 : ترجمة English

ترجمة الآية 47 من سورة Al-Mu’minun - English - سورة المؤمنون : عدد الآيات 118 - - الصفحة 345 - الجزء 18.

﴿ فَقَالُوٓاْ أَنُؤۡمِنُ لِبَشَرَيۡنِ مِثۡلِنَا وَقَوۡمُهُمَا لَنَا عَٰبِدُونَ ﴾
[ المؤمنون: 47]

﴿ ترجمة: فقالوا أنؤمن لبشرين مثلنا وقومهما لنا عابدون ﴾

They said: "Shall we believe in two men like ourselves, and their people are obedient to us with humility (and we use them to serve us as we like)."


English - Sahih International

They said, "Should we believe two men like ourselves while their people are for us in servitude?"

(23:47) They said, "What! should we believe in these two men who are human beings like ourselves40-a and whose people are our bondsmen?" *41

*41) Abid is worshipper. According to the Arabic usage, to be a "worshipper" and a "bondsman" are almost synonymous. Therefore when the Prophets invited their people to worship Allah alone, they wanted them to worship and serve and obey none but Allah, and that is the real significance of the word " `ibadat". For further explanation, see E.N. 50 of AI-Kahf (XVIII).
